CRYSTALS: Herkimer Diamond


Herkimer diamond are not actually diamonds at all, they are clear, naturally double-terminated quartz. It was originally found in Herkimer County in New York, but deposits has also been found in Mexico. It can be quite pricey if it is small and clear, but do not be fooled by the size of the crystal - even the little ones are very powerful (do not wear Herkimer diamonds for extended periods of time). The very clear ones can display little rainbow inside due to the refraction of light.


Healing

Herkimer diamonds activate the light body, and are powerful detoxifying crystals. It clears electromagnetic pollution and can for this purpose be included in space clearing rituals or sprays.


Magickal

Use Herkimer diamonds to enhance psychic ability, prophetic dreaming and telepathy. It is also fantastic in any cleansing rituals. Herkimer diamonds clears the chakras and allows constant smooth flow of energy.

Using Day One as a digital grimoire?

GRIMOIRE: What do I do?

When I was teaching witchcraft back in the mists of time, #1 question was, hands down, "Can I see your Book of Shadows?". If you're Wiccan, you know this is how Wiccans refer to their grimoire, spell book or whatever you want to call it. I had a really shit system back in the day - literally it was a massive ring binder with print-outs from the internet, photocopies (who remembers those??) and clippings pasted onto paper. I'd show it to students and they'd all be like.. They clearly thought I had this huge, leather-bound tome of calligraphy and detailed mystical illustrations. No. Maybe I should take it out of the loft and do a video?! Today, that binder has been replaced by Evernote. Yes, Evernote. Cuz ain't nobody got time for paper in this day and age. SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL KIT: January - Self Care

The New Year. Festivities are over, you are perhaps going back to work, you're all partied out... the list is endless of things we lament/regret in January. Therefore I thought that this month's spiritual survival kit would be one of self-care to get our groove back!
